WXIT ranked third in thenewly-unveiled ranking of China’sTop 1000Higher Vocational and Technical Colleges in terms of competitiveness in 2022, which is another breakthrough made by the college after taking the fourth place in the same ranking for three consecutive years during 2019 and 2021.
It is reported that the rankingisjointlylaunchedby the Chinese Academy of Science and Education Evaluation (CASEE), Zhejiang Academy of Higher Education (ZAHE) and Development Strategy and Evaluation Research Center for Strong Province of Higher Education at Hangzhou Dianzi University, the Research Center for Chinese Science Evaluation of Wuhan University, and the Network of Science & Education Evaluation in China (www.nseac.com). The ranking includes four evaluation reports respectively on Chinese University,World University, postgraduate education and academic journal. The evaluation on higher vocational colleges covers 1516 colleges, among which 1484 are higher vocational and technical colleges, and 32 are colleges providing higher vocational undergraduate education. It is composed of5 primary indicators, 34 secondary indicators and more than 100 observation pointswith newly-added indicators or data observation points includingmoral education, academicconduct,ideological and politicalcourses, demonstration bases,college-industry cooperation, superior majors in the previous year, excellent teaching materials, talent training quality, integration of industry and education, innovation and entrepreneurship, 1+X certificate pilotscheme, undergraduate education pilotprogram, dissertation qualityandimpact.
From 2019 to 2021,WXIThas beeninfourthplacein this rankingamong all counterpartsinChinafor three consecutive years. With theadvancementof the construction of A-gradecollege underthe national “Double High-levels Plan”(namely the development of high-levelhigher vocationalcollegeandmajorwith Chinese characteristics), thecollegehas made great progress in education and teaching, science and technology research and social services in recent years.
