On February 16, the 23rd China Annual Conference & Expo for International Education held by China Education Association for International Exchange was opened in Beijing. With “Digitalization of Vocational Education: Digital Vocational Education, Reshaping Skills” as the theme, the main forum of the conference attracted more than 500 representatives from over 300 vocational colleges and enterprises at home and abroad. Wang Yongli, secretary-general of China Education Association for International Exchange, attended the meeting and delivered an address, and Lin Yu, deputy director general of the Department of Vocational and Adult Education of Ministry of Education, delivered a keynote speech. Gong Fanghong, secretary of the school party committee was invited to attend two seminars, give keynote speech and serve as the moderator of the communication session.
At the “Seminar on Sino-foreign Cooperation in Higher Vocational Education”, Gong Fanghong, secretary of the school party committee delivered an address as the chairman of the Expert Committee of the Joint Association of Sino-foreign Cooperative Schools and Projects of Higher Vocational Education, introducing the successful experience of Sino-foreign cooperative school-running projects and institutions in professional development, construction of teaching team and talent training in our school. He expected to accurately grasping the essence of the high-quality development of Sino-foreign cooperative schools, thereby promoting the transformation and upgrading of quality assessment and establishing international brand of vocational education with Chinese characteristics.
At the“InternationalSeminar on Cross-border TVET Delivery”, MrGongdelivered a keynote report entitled“Exploration and Practice of China-Ireland Cooperation inRunningSchools through Integration and Innovation”tothe Chinese and foreign experts and scholars attending the meeting, and introduced thedevelopment process of the internationalized school. He stated thatthe Irish College,theSino-foreign cooperative schooladheres tothe international talent training model of cultivating people with virtue, paying attention to engineering education,themulti-dimensional collaboration. He also explained the specific measures ofbuilding an international teaching team,upgrading digital resources, andcreating international “golden classrooms”,presentedthe achievements acquired byIrish Collegeintalent training, and putforwardthe strategies ofstrengthening the construction of the quality assurance system of Sino-foreign cooperative schools and realizing the sustainable development of such projects.In the Q&A session of the seminar,MrGong,as the moderator,analyzed the problems and shortcomings of Sino-foreign cooperative projects in vocational education,proposed solutions to issues such as improving the quality of students, building talent training programs, cultivating teaching competencetogether withleaders ofZhejiang Institute of Mechanical & Electrical Engineering, Nanyang Technological University Singaporeand other Chinese and foreign institutions,and looked forward to the future development of cooperative schoolrunning.Thewonderful report and communicationsmade byMrGongaroused enthusiastic response from the participants,fully demonstrated the fruitful achievements made by our school in the field of international education,and established a benchmark image for the high-quality development of Sino-foreigncooperativeschool.
Next, our school will further strengthen the construction and operation of Sino-foreign cooperative school-running institutions, promote the development of the connotation of talent training, as well as the quality certification of cooperative school by the Ministry of Education, and strive to become an internationally renowned leading vocational and technical university in China with distinctive characteristics of intelligent manufacturing.
